- Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage)
Tyrion Lannister is often referred to as “The Imp” and is one of the most clever characters in Game of Thrones. Tyrion is intelligent, quick-witted, cunning, calculating and an excellent strategist. He’s also very self-aware of his shortcomings and has a low opinion of himself.

Arya Stark is the second daughter and third child of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell and Lady Catelyn Stark. She is a member of House Stark, one of the Great Houses of Westeros. Arya holds many important roles in the overall plot. She starts as an 11-year-old tomboy who loves sword fighting, archery, climbing trees and exploring with her direwolf pup, Nymeria. Over time she becomes a talented assassin among other things. Arya’s role in Game Of Thrones revolves around her struggle to survive in a world where she has been given no place due to her gender and lack of family name.

Jon Snow is the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch and a key character in the series. He is part of a noble family with extensive holdings in the north of Westeros. Jon is an excellent swordsman and can be considered one of the most skilled swordsman in all of Westeros. Jon Snow also possesses great strength and agility, becoming one of the best fighters on his watch, if not the best.
- Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke)
She is a would-be queen of Westeros, on the show played by Emilia Clarke. Daenerys is the daughter of Aerys II Targaryen and his sister-wife Joanna Lannister; her father was the last Targaryen King before Robert Baratheon overthrew him to become king himself.

Sandor Clegane’s role in Game Of Thrones is a character with a cold-hearted personality and a fierce, pitiless demeanor. He has no sympathy or mercy for those who suffer. He speaks bluntly and seems to have little patience dealing with people. He is the younger brother of Gregor Clegane, The Mountain, and is known as The Hound because of his savage nature: he bites his opponents in battle and will not stop fighting until he kills them.

Eddard Stark was born to the head of House Stark and a sister of the Warden of the North. He was likely fostered at Winterfell with his future wife and eventual queen, Catelyn Tully, as an act of diplomacy by Lord Hoster Tully. He would eventually go on to marry Lady Catelyn, join King Robert Baratheon’s royal guard, and become Hand of the King for his lifelong friend Robert. Eddard was a skilled warrior who eventually rose to Commander of the Kingsguard.

Davos Seaworth is a knight from the fictional caste of the Night’s Watch. He is played by Liam Cunningham in the HBO adaptation of the book series. Davos Seaworth is a loyal supporter and friend to King Stannis Baratheon. After Robert Baratheon’s death, Davos becomes one of Stannis’ most trusted advisors.

Sansa Stark is one of the main characters in Game of Thrones. Growing up with the knowledge that her family are under constant threat from their enemies, she is a character who always remains pragmatic. She does not take foolish risks and always thinks ahead. Jorah is an exiled knight from Westeros, who is enlisted to spy on Daenerys Targaryen for Queen Regent Cersei Lannister. He eventually becomes one of Daenerys’s most trusted advisors and knights, and one of her few true confidantes. He had sworn fealty to his fellow exile Daenerys Targaryen, the Targaryen claimant to the Iron Throne, and was the first to help her adapt to life as a khaleesi of the Dothraki.

He is the son of Giants and a Wildling woman. Tormund Giantsbane is one of the major characters in Game Of Thrones, appearing in seasons 2-6, and A Dance with Dragons. Tormund is a Wildling chieftain, a berserker, and part of Mance Rayder’s army that invades the Seven Kingdoms. He was born on Jornhelm in what would later be known as The North.

He has a powerful personality and he doesn’t care about the material world. In the first season, he saves Arya Stark’s life by giving her three deaths. Later, he takes her as his student and trains her to be an assassin of great skill.
- Ygritte (Rose Leslie)
She first appears in Season One and becomes Jon Snow’s lover. She dies at the end of Season Four by an arrow from Orell, but not before killing Jon Snow’s dire wolf when he tries to save her.
Missandei was originally a polyglottic slave from Naath who served as an interpreter to Kraznys mo Nakloz of Astapor, until she was freed by Daenerys Targaryen, serving as her trusted advisor and handmaiden ever since. She was among Daenerys’s most loyal subordinates.
